Why do we need information about members?

Media Volt needs to collect information from members, in order to offer them the best possible service. The information which Media Volt holds regarding it’s members, will enable them to communicate effectively with other members who may have similar interests, attract potential employers and enhance networking opportunities.


How do we protect the information we have about members?

Media Volt takes the confidentiality of members very seriously, and will take all possible measures to make sure that the information held about them is kept secure. Employees of Media Volt will handle member’s information with strictest care and confidentiality at all times. Media Volt will ensure that measures are frequently taken to ensure that databases are safeguarded and secure.


How do we collect information about members?

Media Volt will request basic information from members only when there is significant reason to do so. Further information such as personally identifiable information, will be provided by a member on a voluntary basis only. Additional information may be gathered in the site from competitions, message boards, suggestions and networking areas.


How is the information used and disclosed?

Information may be used in order to improve the service which is offered by Media Volt. This will only occur if Media Volt feels there is significant reason to disclose the information required. Information will only be disclosed to third parties only under the following circumstances;

  • All or part of Media Volt is sold or merges with another company.

  • Prevention of any form of crime including crime, money laundering, terrorism.

Promotional/ marketing contact, and erasure of membership

You may be given the option to choose not to receive any promotional/marketing information from Media Volt or on behalf of any other third party organisations. This decision may be changed at any time. Otherwise we reserve the right to send members information regarding membership status, changes to the services we offer and promotional emails. Upon request for an account to be deleted, we will make all reasonable efforts to delete the information held regarding the member. However due to back-ups and database systems, we may not be able to erase all information and evidence of your membership.


Can members update information?

Members will be able to update, edit and remove visible information on their account at any time.


Viewable information in public areas of the site

Media Volt makes it clear that we are not responsible for any personally identifiable information (e.g. date of birth and e-mail) that you post on any of our boards. This information can and may be collect by a third party which is beyond our control. This could result to unsolicited mail form third parties and other posters.


How we use IP addresses

Media Volt may keep a record of your IP address to deal with any problems with our server or to administer our site. We may also use your IP address to identify you and improve our service. All information will be kept within the Media Volt company and will not be shared with a third party.

We may collect non-personal information through the use of cookies. Media Volt may employ the services of outside companies to serve and appropriately target online advertisements and track site usage. We do not control what they may do with this data.
